(Ch)anger

By Dominic Jones

If I read, I’ll journal

If I journal, maybe write poetry

Force myself to get something onto paper

Chain reaction

Perhaps

Finally

Okay with myself

And can share my life with someone else

(Ch)anger over the things that frustrate me

Crank the volume / set the pace

Step back

But in your face

Ready for a new beginning

Of this journey to fate

Looking inward

Reality is something that

Isn’t all that bad

Don’t have to escape from all the time

Write down a dream

But I barely recall them

(Ch)anger over the things I have no control over

Mediocre

Mundane

Monotony of everyday routine

Push back

Insane

Miss my cat

It stings

But overall

In a much better place

(Ch)anger can become

Change without anger
